About Angela
I am a spirit-led visual artist. My canvas and my studio are the crossroads and sacred circle where the physical meets the spiritual to create manifest forms of beauty, healing, and transformation.

Art Making as Spiritual Practice
I turned to the visual arts in 2005, starting with digital collage and mixed media shrines. Since then, I have added colored pencils, oil pastels, acrylics, and digital drawing to my toolbox.
I have taken some art classes over the years, but I am not formally trained. I have explored Touch Drawing with Deborah Koff-Chapin, intuitive painting online with Havi Mandell and Sheri Ponzi, and attended a Visionary Art Intensive with Alex and Allyson Grey. But I am not certified in any one technique.
I have exhibited at The Hamilton Gallery, Paganicon, Sacred Space Esoteric Conference, Torpedo Factory, Artomatic, The Open Hearth Foundation, the Towson Arts Collective, and the Smithsonian.
Earth & Starry Heavens
Cherishing the Divine within All Beings
At heart I am an animist, and I strive to treat all living beings with the respect they inherently deserve. This perspective takes me beyond my “in-group” or the people I am most familiar and comfortable with. My animism spurs me to reach out in community to people with different lived experiences, animals, plants, stones, weather patterns, the deep ocean. All of these are alive and filled with consciousness of some type.
My work, both spiritually and artistically, aspires to be anti-racist and inclusive of the diversity of sexual orientation, gender expression, and physical and cognitive abilities. In my endeavors and life journey, I lead with a strong and open heart. I seek out relationship and connection with the other beings who live in my neighborhood.
Ancestors & Lineage
My Family, Teachers, and Experience
My family is mostly British, Scottish, and German. The women on my mother’s side have been healers and psychics. I was raised in the Spiritualist community of the 1970s and early 80s. Both my parents were mediums, ministers, and ceremonial magicians. I was lucky enough to spend my first 7 years of life as a partiallay feral child at Camp Chesterfield, Indiana, where I first learned to listen and speak to the invisible world.
I discovered Paganism as a teen in Oklahoma and have been lucky enough to study with some amazing priestesses, such as Lady Georgia in the Georgian Tradition in Norman, OK; Lady Bridget in the Isian Tradition in Houston, TX; and most recently Katrina Messenger of the Order of Elemental Mysteries (Washington, DC) where I earned my third-degree initiation in 2022.
Being & Serving
I Seek to Learn that I May Serve
I exist as a Pagan, not alone, but in community.
After moving to the DC metro area in the late 1990s, I have coordinated many community events, including the DC Pagans’ Night Out and DC Pagan Pride Day.
In 1998, I helped found an experimental ritual group named Magick Belly #9. In 2002, I joined Becoming, an earth-based panentheist spiritual community and served that community as the Presiding Celebrant from 2003 to 2011, and was ordained as clergy by the membership in 2005.
Currently, I am a third-degree initiate of the Order of the Elemental Mysteries and member of their Artist Guild and the Convener of Connect DC, founded by Katrina Messenger.
